Small Gauge: A good and interesting small gauge, for accurately measuring small diameters or thicknesses, (possibly gut strings?) branded Richard Weichold, Dresden, and also bearing his logo, ie an arrow with RW. Probably made by Weichold, and possibly also owned and used by him in his workshop. The calibrated arm is divided into 60 sections, with the number 1 at 20 divisions, the no. 2 at 40, and no. 3 at 60. The item being measured is inserted a the other end between two steel pillars. The gauge is extremely accurate. Made in 'German silver'. Dated 1905. Dimensions- length 64 mm, max width 50mm. An unusual item in this digital age, in very good original condition.
Price: £ 55
